Tina Cruz graduated from the University of Houston - Clear Lake in Houston, Texas. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Design with a concentration in Studio Arts while completing her double minor in Art History and Education. She is studying to get her Masters of Art at the University of Oklahoma in the online Art and Technology program.
She grew up in the Rio Grande Valley and now resides in the Greater Houston area. Tina loves to spend time outdoors in nature and tends to her home garden as much as possible. She was married a few years ago and has a stepson.
Tina had a limited series of etching prints selected to be the official Dean of Human Sciences and Humanities donor gifts for fundraising at the University of Houston - Clear Lake. Her work was also featured in a rendition of Judy Chicago’s “The Dinner Party” called “Dinner Party'' Retrospective, working to include underrepresented groups such as women of color and LGBTQ at the University of Houston - Clear Lake. Most recently two of her paintings were shown at an exhibition at the University of Houston - Clear Lake called, “!@#$ 2020” commemorating an unprecedented year for all. Her most recent appearance included 3 works of art selected by a jury at the BFA exhibition 2021 at the University of Houston - Clear Lake in Houston, TX.
